The Sand Sea is a region of the desert of Al-Uqh where air and fire aether intermingle, whipping the desert sand into a flowing sea that can be sailed upon with specially-designed vessels called "sand skiffs." The Sand Sea reaches from the edge of Zir to the notorious port of Kiatta ra Nir, and encompasses the ruins of Qumaat.
