It was originally isolated from the back of the bombshell turtle, a species native to the waters between the [[Delun]] mainland and [[Henge]]. The actual capability of the rune is to channel the entirety of the caster's magical power into a fiery explosion centered on themselves. This is not its normal use, however. Instead, it is used for its ability to absorb the enormous and normally uncontrollable magical potential of the aethersick, rendering the bearer immune from accidentally absorbing other runes and therefore preventing the runaway arcane maelstrom that normally results, as well as conferring a small amount of magic resistance.
