Government Democracy
Governor Lord Geoffrey Nettlebridge

Brine is the smallest of the nine islands of Belgrit, containing only a single town called Brineport surrounded by farmland and a few tiny villages. Arable land is very scarce on Brine, leading to heavy reliance on fishing and trade and high prices placed on fresh produce.

Fun fact: The process of brining (soaking food, especially meat, in salt water to season and preserve it) gets its name from this island, from where the practice originated as a means of preserving fish for export and storage beyond its season.

The politics of Brine are currently divided between the Fishmongers, who lean Starboard and represent the interests of the working class, and the Merchants, who lean Port and represent the interests of the bourgeoisie.
