The '''Orcs''' or ''orkiv'' in their native language, are the green-skinned and tusked relatives of the [[Elves]] originally native to [[Ordinatus]], the eastern province of what is now the [[Araxian Empire]]. Despite their heritage, orcs do not enjoy the long years of their distant Elven kin, but neither do they suffer the [[Woe]]. They are known for being significantly stronger and taller on average than most humans and elves, and often find work among humans in roles where their physicality is a great asset: as guards, blacksmiths, farm hands, etc. This has led to a perception among more ignorant folk that orcs are dumb brutes only suited to menial labor and looking scary, which of course is easily dispelled by a cursory understanding of any of the aforementioned trades. Or a cursory understanding of much of anything, for that matter.

In most places, orcs are a minority group, but in Ordinatus they are nearly as common as humans, and much more common than Elves.
